On May 24th, 2023, Tunghai University announced the addition of 100,000 NT dollars scholarship to its existing "Excellent Freshman Incentive Program." Through the "Outstanding Talent Scholarship Program," the university breaks away from the traditional scholarship model that solely focuses on academic performance and encourages students to demonstrate exceptional talents in various fields. Dean of Academic Affairs Ting-Ya Yang stated that this scholarship is different as it incorporates high school students' performances in literature, arts, sports and technology. Students who demonstrate outstanding talents and possess concrete achievements are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Tunghai University President Kuo-En Chang said that the university is committed to cultivating well-rounded students and providing them with crucial support and opportunities. This scholarship symbolizes the university's dedication, and through it, Tunghai University can motivate more high school students to fully display their special talents. Chang further mentioned that in recent years, Tunghai University has focused on AI, sustainability, and liberal arts. Through combining efforts with Google and Chunghwa Telecom to promote cloud-based courses and introducing the Tesla agile smart manufacturing curriculum, the university breaks the limitations of learning and strides into the goal of being a future university.

Tunghai University provides a total of 136 million NT dollars in scholarships each academic year, with various types available. The summer transfer and admission exam will be open for registration on June 1st.
The Director of the Admissions and Recruitment Office, Di-Yan Wang, pointed out that the specific application process for the Outstanding Talent Scholarship involves students applying, followed by each department selecting 1-2 candidates to be reviewed by the corresponding college. It is expected that a total of 5-9 scholarship recipients will be selected throughout the university. The awardees will receive a 100,000 NT dollars scholarship for one academic year. Di-Yan Wang expressed gratitude to the generous donation from alumni Wu-Huang Yang and his wife Li-Rong Cheng. Wang also mentioned that the University's existing "Excellent Freshman Incentive Program" provides scholarships to students with excellent academic performance upon admission, with no limit on the number of recipients. Departments in humanities, sciences, and engineering also offer scholarships to incoming freshmen.
In order to attract outstanding students, Tunghai University provides a total of 136 million NT dollars in scholarships each academic year, with various types of scholarships. This includes over 55.5 million NT dollars in various internal scholarships, over 36.6 million NT dollars in government scholarships, over 44.4 million NT dollars in work-study scholarships, and over 700,000 NT dollars in emergency relief funds. The most notable scholarships among these are the full scholarships for the Smart Manufacturing Program and Resilient Design Program, which not only provide up to 120,000 NT dollars in annual scholarships but also allow students to apply for other projects and have priority access to internships and employment opportunities.The transfer and admission exam for Tunghai University this summer will be open for registration on June 1st.
