Tunghai University International College Visits North American Alumni Associations

James Sims, Dean of the International College (IC), visited three Tunghai Alumni Associations: Northern California (NCAL), New York/New Jersey (NY/NJ), and Southern California (SCAL). The purpose of the visits was to thank alumni for their support and to promote Tunghai via the International College.

 

Tunghai Alumni Associations, Northern California (NCAL) Chapter

 

Dean Sims first met with the NCAL Chapter and then a delegation from the NCAL Tunghai Association led by President Dr. HW Chen 陳祥文. Dean Sims then visited Sonoma State University (SSU). The current University President Dr. Mike Ming-Tung Lee 李明東, a Tunghai FLLD graduate, emphasized the value of his Tunghai education and his desire to build strong ties between the two universities. To quote Dr. Lee, “Sonoma State is looking forward to building a closer relationship with my alma mater!” In order to strengthen this collaboration, NCAL Alumni and the IC will support two Sonoma students to attend the IC Mini-Semester.

 

During his visit with the NY/NJ Association, President Dr. Tsanliang Su 蘇贊良 arranged a dinner for alumni to meet with Dean Sims. Additionally, SCAL President and President/CEO of SCEPTRE, Stephen Liu劉酉, arranged a SCAL reunion meeting at his company followed by a dinner.

All three alumni associations were excited to learn about the IC and how Tunghai is moving in a good direction.
